I watch A LOT of TV, and I used to be a fan of Gossip Girl. Back in 2008, I wasn’t even ashamed to admit it. I liked it on a purely shallow level; it was simply good, fun television. The best things about the show, for me, were not the ridiculous (yet still interesting) storylines, but the wonderful clothes, the fantastic city, and the pretty people that I got to see on my TV screen every week. 

That was ruined for me when an influx of Dair shippers barged their way into the fandom of a show I once loved, and I became embarrassed by not only the poor storylines, but also the people within the show’s fandom, because the subject matter that had been brought up, by these shippers, angered me.
